I received an email that my case had been updated but when I checked the status online, nothing had changed. All three still say, "on nov. 2 we received your application...blah blah blah...". Is this common?

It's common - their (USCIS) email system seems to sometimes have a mind of its own - sounds like a delayed email of your NOA1 (in triplicate).

There is a delay or lag time between what they do and what they post on case status online and also those touches and the emails from CRIS you get or even the snail mail.

More then likely it is good news, you will get notice they transferred your case or are setting up interview for you.

Thank you. I hope it is good news. They just seem soooo slow compared to some cases I've seen on here.

Well, aside from the reason that they are different than what I'm used to, it is a spin on the baseball/Chevrolet song. The song that goes, "I love baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet's".

USCIS is slow I agree, any application anyone files should have been worked and a decision rendered within 3-4 months on the very least, I can understand out of the ordinary or special exceptions taking longer, but you are right it is slow, hang on I am sure you will be approved soon.
