CAN ANYBODY ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS PLEASE????

we filed for EAD, AOS last week. We live near Knoxville, TN. Does that mean we have to go to Memphis for an interview? How do you know where you will go for interview and biometrics? Also, could you tell me the order in which we have to do things from this point on?

Does he have to have more/new fingerprints? If so, from where? near our city of residence?

We sent in the papers lsat week. When might we expect an interview? How much time do we have to prepare? How long does the interview last? And this is where I presume we bring stuff that shows we are on the same bank accounts, etc.

Did I read correctly that we get approval the day of the interview? How long before we get written approval?

We went through JFK just so he could work, but there have been so many paperwork screwups, that he has just applied for jobs, and his stamp will run out in one month (read my nightmare on my timeline). Anyway, he is dying to work, bored to tears cuz we have no public transportation and he has to learn how to drive and learn more Enlgish to pass the driver's written test here. He didn't need to drive in Morocco.

Anway, I appreciate any/all advice you have to offer. Thanks, Debbie

Here's the USCIS field office locator. Type in your zip code to see which field office you'll most likely be having your interview and biometrics. You'll be getting a letter from USCIS about the interview and biometrics dates in the mail. Biometrics consists of fingerprints and photographs for the EAD and green card which is included in the $1010 fee that you submitted with your AOS package.

You can check the timelines as to when you'll be expecting an interview. Right now with the delays it's estimated to take between four to six months, sometimes longer. Interviews can be roughly half an hour long. You'll be told what to bring to the interview in your appointment letter.

Most often you can expect an approval, but sometimes they'll perform additional security checks through FBI clearance so approvals can be held off. Often these checks can take upwards of a couple of years, so you can only be patient while this is going on.

Hopefully that answers most of your questions. Good luck :)

Here's the USCIS field office locator.

If your local office doesn't have an Application Support Center attached to it, you'll probably have to go to a different office for you biometric appointment. Find your ASC here.

To clarify, your biometrics appointment is held at an ASC and your interview is held at your local office.

OMG--If this is the case, it's Memphis, which is more than a 5 hour drive away. My luck....But thanks for the info.

If you get scheduled for an interview make a holiday out of it and spend a couple of days there

I know what you mean, I had to travel 4 hours for my biometrics appointment so we made it an overnight thing.
