A Quick Question regarding Embassy please

hello all,

Could anyone tell what i need to do to get a email notification from the USA Embassy in London when i am given an interview date?

Also, whats the average waiting time for an interview please?

As far as I'm aware there is no automated system in place to generate email updates of the status of cases at the US Embassy in London.

What you could do is start emailing the embassy using londonconsular@state.gov to request information on the processing of your packets. You could use these emails to further emphasise the fact that you are willing to accept an interview date at their earliest convenience and that you have ALL of the documents ready should an interview date become available.

If you keep emailing them there is a pretty good chance that at some point one of their replies will come back containing your interview date... thats how it worked for me anyway !!

My inteview date is exactly 12 weeks from the date i submitted my packet 3. I got packet 4 six weeks after submitting packet 3. They only responded to my request for an interview date via email after i had already received packet 4. Nothing but nothing hurries London.

You can email them for this information, like others have said. We emailed them regularly to inquire about our case and we got notifcation of the interview date through email (and in regular mail of course a few days later). Funnily enough they would always respond to James' emails (he's the foreign fiance) but never mine, but I finally sent them a really angry one and it was me they emailed the interview date to first!

Oh and you can see from our timeline how long it all took; took about the timeframe that they quoted us.

The London Embassy is a funny old place, I think it is just pot luck on the interview date, you may want to email them once or twice a week until they do give you a date, be prepared to get canned reponses for a little while though ok.

Email responses from London are always the same, they will inform you that there is a 4-6 week delay on entering your Packet 3 on to the system and and a 6-8 wait for interview dates. Ignore it all and just wait for packet 4. I e-mailed and got the standard e-mail and 2 days later i got my date in the post.

It took 3-4 weeks from sending of Packet 3 so dont worry.
