Thanks, Marc! I have pointed this out in earlier posts. It is a well-known tactic in board debate. The argument toward me fell apart pages ago, so the only thing left is to try to discredit me as a person. Saw that coming from miles away.

Glad to know others see it too.

Before you get too carried away about that, it rather helps to understand who it is who is actually agreeing with you, certainly before you accept their endorsement.

Why? Do you need an opportunity to trash someone else, too? Hey, you never needed my permission before . . .

Guess what? Gross generalizations about my position have been aimmed at me too, and they are used as red herrings to escape the obvious - that there are few who have really thought out their positions. If they were solid in their ability to discuss the topic without reserting to character assassination to halt the debate, they wouldn't fall back on that.

Notice that no one is discussing immigration anymore?

But, this has been said before and is ignored. There is a pattern there.

Because you chose to respond to that initial "takes the cake" comment. You could have chosen to ignore it (and indeed me - as you threatened to do). However, for all that - you didn't and indeed haven't.

Don't be so self-righteous, 6. The same goes for your posts, too.

Of course it does.

I don't need to, nor indeed do I want to trash Marc.

And you could have choosen not to post that comment. That you did diminishes your claim to higher ground and better manners.

Sure - that was my choice. You however, chose to validate it - and that's really the problem here... If I didn't have a reason to think it then I wouldn't have said it.

Beyond that - others have tried to show you good manners and civility; it clearly doesn't work. What exactly do you expect?

I wanna know why Steven asked me to point out the fluff, yet never commented on it....

Lisa, I got the same treatment; this has been par for the course with Steven during the entire debate.

Yeah, it's nothing new....but I just wanted to point out that it's been noted...yet again.

It is evident that we have differing standards of what is good manners and civility. Based on this statement about what you believe others were saying to me, your standard are pretty low, which surprises me considering how much you go on about it.

I'm vindicated (not that I was ever worried about it). :)

Awwww, you must have been rude, too, Lisa. Rudeness, I've been told, is why people don't answer.

If you like. The pages of postings speak you engaged in resulting from that one comment - tell a different story. However you want to spin it.

Strangely when I meet a person, or are introduced to them I don't automatically assume that they are an a$$hole who can be reduced to type.

You know it is just possible he's not at home.

You made the same assumption about me posting late to the thread. I was out with the wife all day yesterday. It is the weekend, after all.

You give yourself too much credit. With or without you, character assination always follows the inability to address a challenge. I've seen it before and I'll see it again.

Ok, Lisa. You will just have to read all the crapola Six has written to me re self-improvment.

Well, six, you are about to get your wish, thread lock! Cya 'round.

I must have missed the challenge. Again I specifically chose to post on the O/P article. I'm not really interested in the tangential aspects of illegal immigration in this thread. Assume what you like from that.

I'm still wondering where it is I have expressed my "love" for illegal aliens. You chose not to qualify that statement...

Well, six, you are about to get your wish, thread lock! Cya 'round.

I didn't report the thread. Have to blame someone else for that. Sorry!

In itself that doesn't mean a whole lot. He might be back. Is there really no benefit of the doubt these days?

You could always send him a PM.
