Just read the whole long article! Very interesting and well written - boils down to economics once again. How come no one takes up and notices this as the solution instead of more violence?

What I thought was interesting was just not the poverty, but that being surrounded by poverty (even if your family was doing very well) seemed to be a cause.

I think having good friends is such an important thing to kids and teenagers. They can be influenced so easily by the people they spend time with. When I think about having kids, I can only hope that they will be as lucky as I have been to be surrounded by good friends who have always been a good influence.

Jihadis do more damage to fellow muslims and their own families than to their intended target. It pathetic and depressing.
