Does anyone here NOT have a rental, lease or mortgage agreement in both names? This house is only in my (U.S. Citizens) name. We're going to submit our paperwork in February sometime. The only things we have in both names are two bank accounts, that are checking and savings. Car insurance, home phone bill, and an American Express card showing both our names. My husband has credit cards, and I'm just an authorized user on them. The bills are only in his name. Oh yeah, and last year's tax return, and this one coming up. That's about all we have. Is that bad? I wanted to add something else. The utilities are in my name, but I never changed my last name on them, they still have my former name from my previous marriage. The cable/internet bill is in my husband's name. Should I send those in since they have the same address?

Thanks in advance!

Melanie

Get more docuements, we just got a RFE after 6 months of waiting, they need more financial proofs.

I don't have anymore documents to send that I can think of. I read your post and that really sucks! I hope everything goes good for you guys. You guys have way more than us. Looks like we might be getting an RFE, too then.

Good luck to you both! Thanks for the reply. Hope to hear good news from you guys that way I won't worry too much.

My USC husband and I don't have the house mortgage in both names either, and it didn't bother us when we sent in the I-751. What we had in both our names and we sent copies of were:

Utility and water bills

Homeowners' insurance

Beneficiary of my life insurance

Joint bank account statements

His car refi loan

Deed to my car

W2s and 2006 joint tax return

Living will

Drivers' licenses (this shows the same address)

Online receipts for some stuff that I paid for and showed our address as the billing address

Sam's Club subscription renewal notice

E-mails and greeting cards (I scanned the envelopes and cards, and printed them out)

Five letters of support from friends and our church pastor

We also included photos.

I think this been discussed in another thread, but you might consider getting both of your names on the deed to the house. I bought and financed my house before our marriage and refinancing to make my wife and I jointly responsible for payments was not in the cards (no credit history in the U.S. for her). Getting her name on the deed along with mine was very simple and cost about $50.00, if I recall correctly, here in Cook County, Illinois.

HI, first time I post here in this thread. We just had our biometrics in December and just received a RFE letter. I dont have a mortgage or renters agreement under our name. We live with my father and all utilities are under his name. I have already sent in insurance information under both our names, ins beneficiary names. Income tax filed jointly for 2 years and an official bank letter stating all CD's . checking and savings are under both our names. I am running out of things to send them. I will be sending copies of our drivers lisence showing the same adress and notarized letter from my dad explaining our living situation. Other than looking for letter and emails, photos, etc. I am lost....any ideas??????Help!

Spi, thank you for your reply. I'll see if I can get that in time.

Caroline, to be honest, I'm not worried either. Just want to have enough to please them. Hope what I have is enough.

Is it a good idea or not to make copies of our credit cards showing our names and the same account number? Like I said, I'm just an authorized user, so the bills only come in his name.

Thanks!
