My wife's filipino passport expired and we are flying to Manila at the end of January. Does she need to renew her passport before she leaves the states? If so, whats the easiest way?

She has her greencard and travel authorization already.

Thanks

She has to renew it at the closest Philippine consulate or embassy.

We to get Claudeth a new Filipino passport. What a nightmare, at least at the Consulate in L.A. Make sure you take every peice of documentation and be prepared to get copies. They aren't going to tell you, at least it was that way with L.A., everything you need all at once so we ended up going to the copy place about five or six times. You will also have to register your marriage. Good luck, hope it goes better for you than it did for us, it was five hours of #######

We have to go to the one in DC. I'm mailing her stuff in so I don't have to go up there I assume. Plus she's keeping her maiden name since I already bought the plane tickets. I'll let you all know how it goes. The only documents they ask for are the old passport, copies of the data page and a check for 50 dollars. Plus I have to notarize the form.

Since she's keeping her maiden name then the passport renewal should be painless.

It becomes a major nightmare if she is changing her passport to her married name as she will have to file for Report of Marriage and that's the one that's nightmarish (per my experience).
