I am in the process of having my wife filling out this DS-230 form and sending to me.

Do you know any other documents NVC would need from my wife?

I am just trying to save some times because the postal service between Vietnam and the U.S. is horrible, especially Vietnam

As the Vietnam consulate is 'Standard' Processing, she should only need to send the DS-230 Part , and a copy of biographic page of her passport.

You may want to check the NVC instructions for the DS-230 for her consulate here: Applicant Processing NVC

Police clearance, Original BC, Copy of passport. Original death certificate of hubbyif applys.

Divorce or annulment certs if applys.

They required all originals other than PP in my case.

For the Philippines but don't think it's much different elsewhere!

Embassies vary from country to country. We didnt want to wait for a packet III, so we got the package together well before approval and had the document check done at the embassy in October. WE also picked up the medical forms there and got a list of doctors, pending receipt of an A-number. We decided we did not want to wait on local mail, packets, or whatever paperwork BS the consulate will dribble out to us. We arranged this, through the State Department, with the help of our local Congressman's office, just to facilitate politeness in the process. This is what we did, together in person:

From our embassy, for K3 visa application, our package has already been document checked, arranged, and approved, awaiting transfer of our file from the NVC.

Our NAME CHANGE was done through immigration, in my wife's passport.

DOCUMENT PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR

V OR K-3 VISA INTERVIEWS

Please note that when applicants arrive at the Embassy for their scheduled interviews, the documents applicable to their cases must be pre-arranged in the following order:

1. Passport. The local immigration office registered her name change on the "update" page, page 4, and stamped it. Embassy review said this is OK

2. DS-230 Part I

3. Birth Certificate(s). We had a certified, stamped English translation made in additional to the original certificate.

4. Marriage Certificate (if applicable). We had it translated, certified, and stamped in addition to the original certificate.

5. Name Change Certificate (if applicable). See above, done in passport.

6. Death or Divorce Decree (if applicable) from Petitioner and Beneficiary. I had to get "True Copy" with the seal from the courthouse here in the US, and send it to her

7. Police Certificate. This varies from country to country. Ours is from the central headquarters office in Jakarta which covers all districts. She has not lived outside the country for more than a year, but did live/work in Australia for a few months. The Embassy said that didn't matter, it was noted in her passport anyway as <1 year.

Each applicant aged 16 or older must have police clearance from any country where the applicant resided for one year or more.

If you have lived in more than one cities for six months or longer you should get the police certificate from the police region of each city.

8. Evidence of Support. The applicant must provide evidence that he/she will not become a public charge. Evidence of support could include fax copies of applicant's petitioner most recent Federal Income Tax Return (1040) and Tax Statement (W-2), or an employment letter stating salary or wage.

In addition to this, we also provided a current pay stub, showing current employment and year to date earnings, as well as evidence of health insurance. They wanted all of this attached to an I-134F

9. Photographs. Two (2) color photos of each applicant in the correct format. The State Department website has requirements for photos

10. Fee: US$ 100.00

For each document, the applicant must bring:

Originals or original certified copies by the issuing office

Photocopies of the original documents

All documents should be accompanied by English translations

Please note that if translations are required, the photocopies and translations for items 3 through 7 must be in order together with the originals (i.e. do not arrange copies and translations separately)

Hope this helps..........
