Questions for AOS

Hello AOS Forum,

I am a newbie to this forum and VJ has been a great help getting me through the K3 process. I will be sending off the paperwork (AOS) sometime next week for my husband who has been here for only 3 weeks on K3 visa. I just have a few questions to ask that have probably been already answered before so please forgive me as I can't find them.

1.) Do I really need to apply for AP I-131 if my husband is here on K3 multiple entry visa just to be on the safe side?

2.) On the I-864 is it like the I-134 as in if I have a co-sponsor do they have to fill one out and I have to fill one out as

well?(so there will be 2)

3.) Do I put all the petitions I-864,I-485,I-765,I-131 in the same envelope?

4.) On the G-325A do I need to fill one out as well or just my husband?

5.) I have heard something about the I-693A I hope I said that correctly about a civil surgeon transferring my husband's

immunizations to this paper. Is that right? Can we just send a copy of his immunization record that he brought from

Nigeria that is only a few months old or how does that work?

6.) My husband has only been here a few weeks and I cannot put his name on alot of my stuff without SS# do you think

this will be a problem for us?

7.) Is it okay to send copies of all documents with the packet or do I have to send originals?

1) No, K-3 does not need AP

3) Yes, but I-131 not required

4) G-325A just for the applicant

5) Some have reported success in sendind the DS form others have been RFE'd .. It is a roll of the dice

Make sure not to send originals except for application pages that are signed and passport-style photos. You need to save your originals for your records because they will never be sent back to you.

And you would be wise to get the immunization records transferred to the I-693A. Call around to local civil surgeons and try to get a fair price for the transcription.

1) NO need for I-131 for K-3 visas, this is explained well in the I-131 directions.

2) Yes same with I-864, Primary Sponsor (US Citizen Spouse) MUST provide one and Joint sponsor provides one too.

3) YES send to Chicago, and it will be 2 petitions, I-485 and I-765

4) NO only the I-485 applicant needs to provide a G-325A

5) You must get foreign vaccination record transfered to vaccination supplement by a civil surgeon, call arround and insist that you only want the supplement, many civil surgeons like to gauge you for a full medical which is NOT needed for K-Visa holders.

6) Many banks insist on SSN, but most things you wont have problems adding him to, without SSN

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

The nearest civil surgeon is two hours away from my area. Do you know if you have to be present or will they transfer the information by mail (I know wishful thinking) I just had to ask!
