OK, here is the problem, the product that I am looking for is not sold in the USA, this being Lemsip, it's a cold and flu remedy for those that don't know (www.lemsip.com).

My US wife has been down with a cold for the last week, and now it's time it was gone, but can I find this product here ?? No, seems that the US market has not heard of this product and unaware of it's power to cure the common cold and flu like symptoms !!! (shocking)

Does anyone here know of a product thats sold in the USA that works as well as Lemsip does ??

Also, Lucazade, be damed if I can find this product too !!

Some info from others here would be great, places / outlets that sell these items or items that are just as good and do the trick.

Thanks,

Ian

You could always just make a hot toddy with lemon, boiling water, whiskey, allspice, and knock it down with a few painkillers. That, basically is what Lemsip is minus the booze.

can't you get someone back home to send you some Lemsip? or buy some online? that's what I've always done with over-the-counter medications that I can't get here (I'm Australian, but am currently living in London)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Ian -- your profile says you're in New England... Is there a Stop & Shop or Shaw's near you? I've seen Lucozade at both in the past couple of weeks, and I'm in Connecticut. Worth a shot!

Yes, I miss the good ol' Lemsip too, but jodee's tip is spot on. It's the closest thing! Seems like in America, with the exception of Alka Seltzer and Berocca-type-things (no idea what the names are here yet for such stuff!), most potions are in the tablet/capsule form and not as powders or dissolvable pills. I can't remember ever seeing dispersible aspirin over here!

Anything with Phenylephrine and Acetaminophen (US name for Paracetamol) would be basically the same thing. If you want that particular brand, it could be difficult to acquire.

Sambucol also helps - it works on the immune system to help fight off a cold and help to shorten its duration. It is available at a lot of health stores, GNS stores or herbal stores. It comes in liquid and tablets - and sugar free if desired.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I always just do good ol' fashioned hot honey, lemon, and echinacea about 5 times a day. Maybe a couple of Tylenol for good measure if you've got the body aches. The honey is a natural anti-biotic, the lemon will give you a VitC boost and the echinacea will give a general immune system boost. And the hot water helps to soothe sore throat and loosen everything up.

We have always used Lemsip in the past. Since we have been here we have been using Thereflu and it is very similar, almost the same as lemsip in fact.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
