I just bought a bunch of 199'something songs of a Colombian band I love (Aterciopelados), a Brazilian band (Os Paralamas), and Alice in Chains Unplugged. I enjoyed my 2 last years of high school SO MUCH (1996-1998) and this music just makes me feel like that girl again... short hair, skinny and dressed like Gwen Stefani in that period... Eu tenho saudade!!!!

But I'm happy too :blush:

My 16 yr-old daughter's going on a ski trip as part of the Alpine Club at school. I told her that I wouldn't cramp her style by going on the first trip with her (parents are allowed to tag along/chaperone/act as emergency driver to follow the bus). She shrugged and said, "Doesn't matter... all of my friends love you. They think you're so cool."

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

There's a fine line in being mother and best friend.... but we talk about anything and everything... that's always been one of my goals as a mom.

Your being sensitive to that sort of feeling will help make it so!

I'll pray for that!!

My mom has always been very supportive about my academic and professional life... but I would have liked to know what it is to have an emotional bond and a nice friendship, you know? Even if it's still my mother... Luckily, my dad has fulfilled that lack... but it's not the same thing... I really want to be a good, caring and intelligent mom...

Yesterday I had asked my husband to clear a spot for a tree. He went above and beyond by putting some of our wedding photos in frames and placing them in the room! :wub::luv:
