* Good lord, it gets worse: “Well before it was publicly known he was seeing her, then-married New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani provided a police driver and city car for his mistress Judith Nathan, former senior city officials tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com. ‘She used the PD as her personal taxi service,’ said one former city official who worked for Giuliani.”

* Giuliani is trying, in a pathetic kind of way, to push back against the “Shag Fund” scandal, calling the original Politico article a “hit job.” He added, “I would not accuse any of my opponents of doing it. But who knows, it could be on the Democratic side.” Either the story is true, or it isn’t. Either Giuliani can explain the scandal, or he can’t. Dismissing it is as a “hit job” won’t even persuade sycophants.

* Giuliani’s office did offer something resembling a substantive response, but it doesn’t make any sense, and side-steps all the key questions.

Every NYer I know is anti-Giuliani. He oulled some serious BS while in office.

Yep. I am one of them. He pulled A LOT of BS !!! My ex sister in law worked for him during both of his terms. She is still pretty close with him. He officiated her wedding and was a guest... He appeared to me as natural as a polyester leisure suit...The man rubbed me the wrong way-and that was in 1994.

He did many, many things which were unethical for personal gain, and some of them were at the expense of taxpayers...and I am not even talking about the stable of women he was shagging at the time. I am talking about changing laws and disbanding programs that were in place for years !

I find it amazing that non-NY'ers will come to his rescue-saying, "he did such a fine job during 9/11"... Well, I got news for them. He did only WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED to do as a mayor. The only thing he's done fine job of is riding on the coat tails of such a tragedy, and it seems he's attempting to ride those coat tails to the white house. Ever the opportunist...

or wait.... sell the purse and buy 15 knock-offs.... now that's an idea.

Sorry... :ot2:

Giuliani ducks questions at campaign stop

Giuliani avoided questions about a story that he misused public funds as mayor.

OKATIE, South Carolina (CNN) – A normally tranquil retirement community became the scene of a full-on media scrum on Friday as Rudy Giuliani ducked questions about his about possible misuse of public funds during his second term as New York City mayor.

Despite attempts by Giuliani staffers to stop them, nearly a dozen cameramen and several more reporters followed Giuliani and asked questions about the controversy as he shook hands with the audience after a town hall meeting here, his first campaign stop since the billing story broke on Wednesday afternoon.

Asked by one reporter about the controversy, Giuliani said only, "We've already explained it," and hastily kept moving.

Still, the press kept following Giuliani, standard practice on the campaign trail when candidates shake hands and depart venues after their events.

The mayor's usually accommodating staff furiously – and in some cases physically – tried keep reporters away from Giuliani as he walked away, shouting at and jostling with cameramen and photographers from local and national media organizations in attendance.

No members of the audience asked Giuliani about the story during the town hall meeting. Most of the questions were about illegal immigration, a flashpoint issue in this booming coastal area near Hilton Head.

I just don't see how he's electable...let alone being the GOP's nominee. He has too many skeletons in his closet.

Many, many, many skeletons...
