AOS Approval 11-28-07!!!

Last night before going to bed checked status and no change since biometrics. This morning received the following message from CHRIS:

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On November 28, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later......

So, I am assuming we were approved without the interview. Does anyone know what the ADIT processing they are referring to? :blink: Have no idea what this is about.

Anyway, glad it is over for a while; now to wait for the card itself. :)

Aug 2002

Entered US on TN work permit

2003 through 2007

Renewed TN Annually

March 2007

Eloped in Central Park on vernal equinox, then honeymooned in Paris.

April 2007

Early April: Renewed TN on return from Paris

June 2007

Sent in AOS/I-130/EAD package

July 2007

July 14: DOA1 - delay in processing because CIS told me to send package to the wrong center.

Late July: Received Biometrics notice

Aug 2007:

Aug 2: Biometrics Appointment

Aug 8: Received RFE for missing medical forms which CIS told me originally not to send in!!

Aug 16: Medical Forms Received at CIS

Aug 24: Received e-notice that EAD card was ordered (No more TN! yay!)

Aug 30: Last day of work on TN. Laid off from job. :(

September 2007

September 5: Received Card! Just in time. Started part-time grad school today.

October 2007

Oct 2: Received Interview Notice: Whoo-hoooo!

November 27 2007

Had GC interview, which went smooth as silk. Received passport stamp, too.

Thank you all!!!

With the help of this web site I was able to initially request a waiver for our K1 when the new changes to the law passed (IMBRA) and no attorneys would take our case. It helped tremendously to get it all organized properly so that we would not get any RFE's and get approved. Then the same thing when applying for the change of status. All the information is here; one just has to be very thorough and proceed with the utmost care and diligence. I know that I did a better job than any attorney could have done for me. I know because I have had them before and have seen how careless they can be.

I have been very low profile in the forum because this is my nature but I have read, watched and learned from most things that has been posted here. For the past year I have been able to pass-on some of this knowledge to our acquaintances and family and hopefully, in a small way, been able to also help them in their endeavor. I will continue to monitor the forum and share in my experiences with those to come after me.
