Hello, can anyone tell me if the U.S. embassy in China, allows an American citizen to file a petition (DCF) for a spouse to obtain IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa? And if so, what has been there experience with this process. Please include the do's and dont's for DCF of IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa in China. Also is a IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa easier than a K-1 ? Just starting the Journey, any help would be appercaited.

Yes, but you do not file to the Embassy in Beijing, you file to the consulate on Guangzhou.

You will get a lot of info at "A Candle for Love" that site is specific to Chinese immigrations matters.

You can file the petition with any US Consulate in China but the interview will be in Guangzhou. The petition is actually processed and approved at a USCIS office attached to the Consulate where you file. After the petition is approved, it is transferred to Guangzhou for the Consular processing of the visa itself.

Yes, the petition can be filed in Beijing, if that is the most convenient for you.
