As I posted before, we got a RFE the other day. The address where we send it back to is in Lees Summit, Missouri. I just now realized that all of our NOA#s (for I-485, I-765, I-131) start with MSC which I guess is for Missouri Service Center.

What I am wondering is if that is where our case will stay or if cases sometimes bounce around a bit.

Anyone have any ideas???

Oh and BTW, we had our Biometrics today as well as a INFOPASS apt at our local office (Saint Albans, VT). Unfortunately the person who came out told us that he was extreamly busy and so didn't have much time. He looked at our RFE, shrugged his shoulders and then told us to just resend the info. He said this and then said that the people that look this stuff up are subcontracted and often times a bit "dumb".... and I quote the "dumb" part. Therefore i really didn't have time to ask this question also.

The case is processed at Missouri (who also makes the green cards and so), but cases "usually" can take 2 paths:

if you are having an interview your file will be sent to you local office.

if you wont have an interview your file goes to California, where it gets approved.

timelines in both cases vary..

in my case MY file went thru Ca, my kids files (we filed later for them) went thru local office.

My case took around 3 months to be approved, their took around 5 (just because the appointment for the interview was far in time, i got the appointment in August but it was for november).

As for the RFE, i got it and it didnt really slow down my case, but i resend EVERYTHING they ask, EVEN when i DID send it all the first time, i guess they just "missplace" papers at times and instead of looking for them , it is easier to send an RFE.

Muchisimas Gracias P.T.!

Thanks for the quick reply. We just assembled all the info again and are on our way down to the post office to get it sent out. Funny thing that we are once again nervous as we were the first time sending in the AOS packet. And once again we will try our best to sit back and wait....
