Hello, can anyone tell me if the U.S. embassy in China, allows an American citizen to file a petition (DCF) for a spouse to obtain K-3 visa? And if so, what has been there experience with this process. Please include the do's and dont's for DCF of K-3 in China. Also is a K-1 easier than a K-3? Just starting the Journey, any help would be appercaited.

A petition for K-3 cannot be direct filed at any consulate in the world.

If you meet the requirements, an I-130 petition for IR/CR 1 can be submitted

K-1 and K-3 will depend on marital status... neither one is more easier than the other.

Right and I can confirm that yes, you can (if you otherwise qualify to do so) direct file (DCF jargon for this site) an I-130 for a CR1 or IR1 visa at any Consulate in China or the Embassy in Beijing. Regardless of which Consulate you file with, the interview and visa will be processed in Guangzhou.
