Well well ladies I have come across an important phone number for our arsenal :). So been mistreated at the embassy? Case in limbo overseas? Not getting answers. Call the State Department Visa line. The phone number is *drum roll please* 202-663-1225 Make sure your SO takes down the names of the officers he/she is dealing with overseas so that you can report their name and as much information about what happened as possible. Hope it helps!

This is the number everyone should be calling after going on AP/AR to check status (unless you can talk to the consulate, which I am unsuccessful with). And I doubt they would do anything about poor treatment. They are a public information line (description used just this morning).

You could complain to the Bureau of Consular Affairs (oversees consulates), which I believe is headed by Maura Harty.

I recieved this number and was told to file a complaint through someone I work with at the State Department. Although they may not do anything at least your complaint is lodged somewhere. I was told that Cairo is currently reviewing their personnel and employees in the visa section if it's any consolation to anyone....

Amera I know you have good intentions but I don't think this number is going to be useful. This is the same number for the "visa specialists" that won't tell you squat about your case. They are not even affiliated with the embassy or the DOS, they are only there to read screens and most of the time they can't even do that correctly.

Thanks for the effort :star: you are such a sweetheart.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.
