i flew with Lufthansa through Frankfurt, and they transferred my bags and everything, but i bought the ticket straight to US, so the Frankfurt layover was included. and the airport was great, compared to CDG (ugh..)

you might want to ask them if they will transfer your bags to your next flight.

i still think 50 minutes is a very short time to transfer. sometimes they would wait for you if you let them know you're transferring, so you might want to ask them that, too.

good luck!

50 minutes is pushing things for any airport - but - if you're only going through passport control and not having to claim and recheck bags, you should be OK - IF you arrive on time and everything goes smoothly (those are big IFs).

It's one of the busiest airports in Europe so don't dilly dally on your way to your departure - more time would be better of course.

Should there even be a need to transit passport control?

YMMV

Assuming your transferring between two flights on the same airline, 50 minutes should be enough. Try to pick a seat at the front of the plane so you can get out easier and sooner in Frankfurt.

Since FRA sometimes remote parks aircraft it is possible that you will be bussed from or to your aircraft it is a good idea not to be putzy.

You can check online where your flights are to arrive / depart. I took a quick look and it seems that all LH flights from the US arrive in Terminal 1 and all LH flights to Cairo leave from Terminal 1. That still has the possibility of some major hassle running from one gate to the next but I'd go for it. There's nothing better than a short layover. BTW, if you are looking to take the early flight into Cairo, there are apparently two additional flights - afternoon and evening - scheduled as well. So, there are alternatives should things not work out.

50 mins should be fine - all Lufthansa flights leave from Terminal 1 and since you are in the transfer area, you don't have to go through the passport control/ security again.

If your flight comes in a bit late, the airport staff usually picks you up right at your gate with a little golf cart to ensure you make it to your flight on time.

I know I thought she meant maim, given how some baggage handlers treat the luggage.
