I am so happy that their is an online community of people who are going through the same process I will be starting in a few short weeks. I just have a couple of newbie questions. I have noticed A LOT of acronyms. Is there a list or a post that I can find somewhere in the forum just to educate my self?

Also, my girl lives in Germany but has to come over here several during the next year for work. Is this going to affect anything in the K-1 filing process? Our employer takes care of her as we work for a major international company but I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with a fiancee coming to the US during the process?

Thanks again and its nice to meet all of you....

First off, no need to be sorry. Everyone here's been clueless and google-eyed at some point in time (I still am clueless! Haha).

Check out http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=definition for a list of acronyms. Very helpful, since people are opposed to typing complete phrases. :)

I don't suspect your fiancee coming to the U.S. on a work visa will interfere with the K-1 process. It may interfere with a work visa renewal a tad if they know she has a sweetheart in the U.S. (they may fear marriage), but I doubt it will be a big problem (though I don't have experience with that). My fiancée was able to acquire a visitor visa and visit the U.S. while the K-1 case is still pending. No problems there.

Welcome, and best of luck to ya!

Welcome to VJ! You will meet a lot of great people with a vast knowledge of this immigration process. Go ahead and familiarize yourself with the Guides; that will be a great help to you especially as it gives you a flowchart of the process you will be going through.

Nice to meet you too EnZ! As long as she doesn't overstay her Visa, she'll be fine. Luck you, you'll get to be with her occasionally during the process.

Welcome, and best of luck to you!
