Glad you like it. I got away from banks about 25 years ago. I have been with my county's credit union and it has must been a terrific organization.

I was happy with BoA until I wanted a letter stating when I opened the account (and all that jazz) for my hubby's K1 interview. I think it was more incompetence and dishonesty from one person in particular - but they screwed up everything AND wanted to charge me. But I'm too smart to let that happen :innocent: .

Since then I've had no complaints but I'm a bit apprehensive to ask for proof of a joint account for the upoming AOS interview because I think they may not be able to get their sh!t together again.

However, if that happens, I'll find another way to show we have a joint account (like I found a way around their mess up at the time of the K1 interview).

We have had a bit of trouble when getting the letter from BofA for the I134, only a few days delay though so its no big deal!

Also, i agree with the person a few comments back - citi is the best for international transfers! I have a Citi account (US$ Savings or something like that) but i can transfer money from my accounts here in UK to it, no charges and better rates than any company (intercharge, xe etc). Then i just get my OH to get cash out from the citi ATM and put it in our BofA...then we can pay off all these black friday bills!!

I will be using this in the future, as checks are so inconsistent and these holding periods and charges that come with them are a joke

hi,

After reading all the expereinces I will have to visit a Bank of America when I am in US. I loved to know that banks offer miles... when we use debit cards. Now that is good and interesting. It will help me getting airline tickets in future at cheaper rate. As my family prefers to use more debit cards rather than credit card.

As far as I know, BofA doesn't have any debit card that gives you miles for using it, that is only credit cards.

Credit cards are better to use, they are more secure - you may have little to no recourse getting money back from fraudulent charges on a debit card, while you almost always can with a credit card. There's no real point to using debit cards. (I use mine only because the CCs are maxed out. Heh. Cleaning that mess up at the moment.)

Just prepare yourself for those overdrawn fees when you put a deposit in then go shopping and they take out the deposits first...:D
