::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

During the process, I lost 30 pounds, but I attribute that to working 2 jobs and eating one meal a day, and constantly being sick.

He lost like 6. lol

Right before the wedding I was like terrified of gaining weight. haha

He's been here for a month today, and he's lost more weight...

...and I have too.

Divorced. To hell with him.

I've gained 12 pounds since he arrived the 3rd week in September. I don't know what in the heck my problem is. I don't feel like I'm eating more although I have been more tied down to my desk at work than I was before. I'm still in my first trimester, I hope I'm not a cow before I go into delivery.

I wish my husband were the type to tell me that I need to exercise, maybe that would get me motivated to get my behind moving, or either send me into fits of crying and hysteria... :( These darn hormones.....

I gained and lost ........gained and lost ......right along with this roller coaster visa journey for the past 2 years.

My fiance stresses out and won't eat at times and I have to force feed him over the phone.

During non stressful times he eats once or twice a day, roughing it in Sierra Leone.

A chicken is a feast. Bread and rice the usual, sometimes greens, an egg for a treat. No sweets. He lost his job so that doesn't help the food supply.

There is no fridge to search for snacks either. No pantry to roam for a midnight snack. Ever.

Poor Baby, I am sure he will put on 20 pounds when he finally gets here. Our first grocery shopping trip will be fun.

We will both join a gym to stay fit though.

Don't get me started on this topic. It could get ugly. I have never understood people that let themselves go after they get married. This pertains to men and women. "No need to look good any more, I'm off the market." Craziness!

don't get me started :P:lol:

i haven't let myself go.. it just happened... we eat out a lot more down here then I ever did back in Canada..

but letting yourself go means not watching what you eat, whether it's takeout or not....

Not necessarily. In Andre's case, part of it was he could not afford to eat some of the time. Eating 2 or 3 times a day makes a difference.

Same for Neil...now he eats 3 times a day and he isn't walking everywhere and he's gained about 25lbs since he came here

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I don't think it can be attributed to "letting yourself go" at all. The majority of people here who have come over from other countries have encountered a HUGE lifestyle change. First of all it is really hard to find food here that is low in salt, sugar (including HFCS) and just generally healthy for you. Even the bread has sugar in it (which it doesn't in the UK, for example) so the change in diet (even if you are really careful) can take its toll on the body for many.

Then there is lifestyle change. The USA is huge and also really reliant on its cars. This removes walking from the equation which I know that many beneficiaries probably did a lot of in their own countries. This can have a major effect on weight too so I think these things are something to be considered rather than the "letting themselves go" option. ;)
