Hi All,

I previously posted that my fiance (a japanese citizen) and I put in the wrong City of Birth on her section of the I-129F and G-325A. Also, we didn't put her Chinese name (which is on her birth certificate) on the "OTHER NAME" sections of both forms. Our forms have been in process for 5 months now, not a good thing to discover now.

I called the USCIS, actually got through after 30mins wait, and this is what they told me:

1) Send a letter explaining the errors on each form

2) Send a certified Translated copy of the Birth Certificate (we didn't know all translations had to be done certified)

3) Send a copy of the NOA1 received

4) Send this to the service center on our receipt (our case, the infamous Vermont center)

5) The center will contact me within 45days that corrections have been made

6) This won't slow the processing AND this MIGHT delay the processing (i spoke to two people there, not confusing at all  )

So, seeing if anyone had experienced anything like this.

Otherwise, hope this will help others if they find themselves in a similar situation in the future.

Take care.

I know if I was in your situation and based on your filing date I would hold off doing anything at this very moment. It would appear that your file could be adjudicated at any time. I would wait for an RFE. YMMV

Hi YMMV,

But I don't see how we'll get an RFE prior to the NOA2. i believe we have about a month before the case is reviewed at the service center. if we don't send our corrections prior to the US Embassy receiving the I-129f & G-325A, won't we be denied at the interview because there are such discrepancies and errors on those forms?

Thanks.

First of all the consulate does not re-adjudicate the petition. Secondly, I do not think your discrepancies or errors are anywhere agregious in nature.... However, you must do what you think is best for you...

YMMV

I agree with Fwaguy. I would wait. If you get an RFE, then send only what they ask for. The only time you'll get an RFE is before the NOA2. I also agree that your case could be with an officer at any time now, so rather than confuse the situation and have what you send them misplaced, wait to see if they send an RFE.

Just my opinion :)

Thanks U2rsobad and Fwaguy.

Will definitely consider our options. The USCIS is now telling me I have to go to a local service center to make corrections. They're even more messed up than I thought.

Will let you know what happens!
