When you think of tequila what country comes to mind?

I was speaking tradition not origin. Most people still consider Russia is home for vodka, including my fiancée's Ukrainian grandmother. The wheat may be grown in Ukraine, but it's distilled in Russia.

If I want tequilla, I buy Mexican, vodka-Russian, gin-English, whiskey-American (Kentucky or Tennessee). I'm traditional.

Gotcha there Jeffery vodka is Ukrainian in origin not Russian. Think about where all the wheat for the USSR was grown.

Guess you've never had any Ukrainian Vodka. course the stuff doesn't get exported much because of the small distilleries. By the way look for the day that the stuff was made as most distilleries have unlimited free samples for employees. Means the best stuff is made in the morning

There are some expensive tequilas out there, can blame the Chinese for wanting to jump on the cash cow

I've had numerous (and I do mean numerous) vodkas from Russia and one from Ukraine. My fiancée and I tend to prefer those from the smaller distilleries. They have much more body. We have also found that price, in our opinion, does not fall in suit with taste. Some of best, we have tasted, were the least expensive.

Unlimited free samples? Can't even imagine the spirit around the distiller!
