If they will reissue it immediately and she flies to the U.S. tomorrow, you can fly together to one of the states that don't have a residency requirement and allow for immediate same day marriages (Las Vegas). You could be done by this weekend.

Sounds like an expensive mistake. But yes it can be done.

If they reissue it and she arrives here before the end of the original 90 days, but you fail to accomplish the marriage in time, you can still get married outside the 90 day window, then file I-130 spousal petition along with the I-485 and you will still be OK.

Exactly. And hinging your future on hoping that the consulate will approve a re-entry isn't something I'd recommend.

Now it will be $455 and your NOA2 will come in 140 days. your interview over 200 days. hope you can get it re-issued. if not you are back to square one. wow, what a blunder. thats like the couples that get their interview scheduled for K1 and then go and get married.

Knowing the embassy in Kingston, I do not think they are going to reissue the visa.

Look 'ere, yuh haffi try! Call the Kingston Embassy and talk to them...Tell dem whatever yuh want, but throw yourself at them. Also have you called Schumer's or Clinton's offices...that's worth a shot! In Schumer's NYC office there is an intern named Paul (he works Immigration dept.)...call him and ask if there is ANYTHING that can be done!!

Don't give up hope...at the very least you can say that you gave it a shot...zeen?!!

I've been lurking on this thread, and ditto here as well. Let us know how things go with the embassy. As cliché as it sounds, it will be worth it some day.. and you can look back and laugh.. I know that's no comfort now, but know that a few of us VJ'ers are pullin' for ya!

I had no idea that the possibility of having a K-1 reissued was possible. I don't know about anyone else, but having gone through the waiting game once, I'd hate to go for round 2. Good luck to you.

She was told at the embassy that if she was married already they would have helped her to go back, but tyet are not a position to help her now.

Maybe someone can be helped by this in the future, show this post to anyone who "think" they want to go back home and was foolish enough to do so without considering the consequences, basically wrecking everything that took so much pain and money to accomplish.

She is now paying the price and so am I, I'm done period.
