Hi folks,

I have decided to go ahead and also apply for the AP travel Doc!!

Where it asks your intended departure date i don't actually have one i am using this as insurance in case i need to suddenly go back home. What did others type in here??

02/17/2006 received my social security number

03/10/2006 We Got Married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04/19/2006 Sent in AOS & EAD papers

04/27/2006 Touched for AOS & EAD

05/11/2006 Biometrics for AOS & EAD[/color]

06/07/2006 Received AOS appointment letter (july 14th 06)

07/07/2006 Recieved EAD

07/14/06 AOS APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! All in less than 3 months (that's unbeleivable)

4/21/08 Filed I-751

4/26/08 Check cashed

4/28/08 NOA received

5/16/08 Attended Biometrics

9/12/08 Green Card arrived in mail :-)

Need help with this please guys!!!!

Do you have to have a legitimate reason to apply for the AP ? Does anyone get refused??

The thing is if there is a risk of not getting the AP then i would rarther not use the money

We put something like "Not yet known.". In the explanation of why my wife needed one, she indicated that she had a sick mother and wanted to be able travel if the need arose. AP was granted.

I put unknown and this is the relevant chunk of the supplemental answer I attached:

"The circumstances that warrant my request for Advanced Parole are that I have an 86 year old mother resident in England, who although currently in good health, she could be taken ill at any time. If she were to be taken ill I would wish to be able to travel to England to visit her and return to the United States following such a trip. In the event that no emergency travel was necessary beforehand I would like to visit her for her birthday next November "

I was searching the AOS forum for this particular issue and I found someone who got some good advice about this. On my form I've put "date unknown at present" and then the supplement I wrote

"I qualify for Advanced parole as I entered the US on a K1 visa, and am applying for the advanced parole in connection with my Adjustment of Status application.

I require a multiple entry advance parole document so that I may visit my family in England."

Which seems to be sufficient. I'm sorry that I can't remember the original post that I got this information from, but if you use the search engine I'm sure it will come up!

-15/08/08 Green Card recieved, good till 2018!!!

Note: Dates are in UK format because I'm (still) stubborn!!!
