K1 approved 5 weeks ago at CSC, still NVC has no info. what to do ?

The "RFE trick"... 1-800-375-5283 Then hit 1,2,2,4,2,1 Then enter receipt number, then 1 a couple more times... If you call the USCIS number and answer honestly, you will get a customer service rep with no clue.

lol..I wish I could edit so I didn't have to keep posting one right after the other >.< ... I got ahold of CSC and they told me my app. is in a box and has either been shipped or is currently waiting for a few more boxes to fill so they can ship it (because they ship in bulk). I was told it should definitely be there, and in the NVC system by late next week. I hope this man is right, 3 weeks is a long time to wait for a mailing process but a lot shorter than I've seen around here lately.

Thanks again for that number, I feel much better knowing it didn't get lost in post or something!

And for any others who were approved same day as me or a little later, maybe this is good news for you too, as hopefully the next shipment is near leaving CSC! I'm hoping that since so many applied + were approved for July it will fill up fast!

I also just called and found out my packet has also been sitting on a "staging area" since 11/30, she said they do shipments once a week but that is bull otherwise others should have been sent and told me it should ship by December 30th. This is ridiculous and something needs to be done.

Heh, if they shipped out once a week ours wouldn't still be sitting there. Nov. 30th was 13 days ago. I agree something should be done but I don't know there is really anything WE can do about it ..

Hopefully the truck will fill up quickly! My fiance and I already have all the papers done for Packet 3 and the interview, lol. Just waiting on the police check to finish. We are both getting antsy!

Funny thing is, the guy told me that it basically stops there and doesn't even get opened, it gets forwarded straight to the consulate. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT?!

Here is how my cards unfolded last spring. When I got the approval letter from csc it only took maybe 2 weeks for it to arrive to nvc where it sat for 5 weeks before sent to council of Kiev where interview was. I was pounding nvc phonelines every day because when I received the letter / receipt from nvc stating they had my packet the letter stated it would be sent to council within the same week.. Ya right !!!! 5 weeks later. I sometimes wish I would not have informed my girl overseas every time I got info from csc-nvc because every time I told her the truth something refering to documents it seemed to be delayed. Almost like I wasent being truthful to her.. Which I sometimes wonder if she thought I was telling the truth .. anyone else ever feel that way in their journey ??? I have to admit though I'm very happy the man right now with her here !!!! So you guys hang in there. I wish the best to all and a speedy process.

I can't believe in the year 2008 when we have UPS, FED EX, etc that they need to stage everything and ship it in bulk. They make it like they're piling the forms on a cargo ship that's sailing across the world... I bet there isn't a person in this entire VJ community that would not have thrown down a credit card in order to next day air documents from place to place!

I too called today and spoke with someone and she said the same, that it is the Staging area and should ship in 5 to 7 days arriving ast the NVC late next week. waiting 140 days for the approval, and now waiting while our file sits in a box on a loading dock waiting to be filled to shipp in bulk.

Damn, I will drive there myself, pick up our file, and maill it myself...there is less stress on the LA freeway then sitting waiting too hear it was shipped.......

I agree with your statement about less stress on the LA freeway (and those freeways are enough to drive anyone crazy)!!! C'mon, USCIS!!!! Get that truck a rollin'!!!

I called NVC and I was informed that they got our case and it was already sent to the Embassy yesterday (December 12). That's more than 6 weeks after NOA2. :-(

But well, we're grateful that our process in on the move again.

The delay was frustrating but we're still glad it was not lost. :-)

I haven't done this, but I'd expect that your congressman won't do anything unless your case is SEVERELY delayed for some unorthodox reason. I'd imagine they get swamped by people wanting help every time their visa petition isn't moving as quickly as they'd like. Most likely, you will be ignored, but I guess it "doesn't hurt to try"... Anyone else with input?

FYI--We were approved Oct. 29--NVC got the package Dec., and sent it on Dec. 12th
