I tried it on Mel last night- I wrote red hammer on a piece of paper and folded it up. I asked him some math questions and then asked him to pick a colour and a tool. After he said red hammer- I handed him the piece of paper. He thought it was cool- he will try it on some of his coworkers today.

it has nothing to do with math questions i think. It's probably more the speed with which a person has to think of something. For those who work with certain tools it's easier to think of another one but hammer is the most common one people use and I think that's why they think of it first. My hubby did the test and he said "red wrench" but he's a firefighter...you know what i mean?
