My Mom always tries to get us to buy a fake tree but we won't have it. I guess we've just always had a real tree, plus I love the smell. It's fun to watch the dog drink all of the sugar water under it and bounce off the walls.

LMFAO

We have a 6 foot fakie that's pre-lit. I got it at Lowes last year for $25 and its pretty nifty. We dont really have room for anything bigger. Ive never actually had a real tree. Dad was allergic, so we've never bought one.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We drove about a 1/2 hour up into the hills to a tree farm we have been going to for years and cut down our tree ourselves. We got a Noble Fir this year...5.5 feet for $27. I love real trees and can't imagine having a fake one. We don't have any problem with needles either. As for the smell it is a little overwhelming the first day or two but it goes away or we get used to it pretty quick.

I'm going with a fake tree from now on. Too much hassle & messy with real one.

We have a fake one. Neither hubby or I approve of Tree-Murder. Either buy a fake one or one with roots so that you can plant it outside afterwards.

Oh and Charles, we have 5 cats, and we still put up a tree. They tend to play under it, but never climb up it and pull it over. Saying that, I reckon Billy-Cat will do just this now I've said this!

fishing line from the trunk (about 2/3 the way up) secured at two opposing structural places helps keep things stable too. You can also do this at two different places on the tree (4 structural anchors) for the really determined felines. Also ... no low hanging balls .. err ... you know what I mean ...

I got my tree for $10 off of craigslist last year... looked pretty good too! I used to want a real tree, but they do make a mess, they can be pretty expensive, and it seems silly to cut down a tree that took years to grow just for one month of Christmas time... We always had a fake one growing up.

I never thought to look for that on craigslist.

We bought an artificial tree at Target and it is beautiful once assembled. It is just a pain assembling :P but probably less work than getting all the pine needles out of the house in January
