Since the LDS Church hasn't told its members to stock up an arsenal I always supposed that maybe things didn't get THAT bad.

63 failed & 1 ambiguous end-of-the-world predictions from 30 CE to 1990 CE

Some Christians and secular individuals predicted several momentous events that they believed are related:

There's no joke in my post. False prophecies have been around since the time of Christ, each time someone claimed that the signs pointed to such. No news here.

Well if it is LDS as some have said in this thread then in my region Zion is known as Salt Lake City not Missouri. Conflict makes for good drama and some people honestly believe some stuff while others chose not to be apart of that. Just like the turn of the millenium hype and the Y2K hype and now the end of the Mayan calendar/end of the world hype of 12/21/2012.

I don't pay much attention to the various stories because there is nothing I can do about it anyways. ((shrugs))

There was hype around Y2K but the problem was real. It was just detected well in advance, and fixed well in time.

Actually, from what I remember, it's location will be in Jackson County, Missouri.
