You're going by the VJ estimate? The estimates are good based on past data, but you should contact the embassy (or look at the embassy site) and see what they say for the delay in scheduling interviews. I thought you had already done this. VJ says that my embassy takes 1-2 months, embassy says that it takes 1 week. I go with the embassy guess and pray for the best.

Why do you think it will take 14 months to process the CR1?

for the reason I didn't pursue the CR1 when the I-130 was first approved. Accd. to vj stats, it takes about ten months to get a CR1 interview in Lagos, Nigeria. If anyone knows any different PLEASE now would be the time to speak up.

Add that to the 4 months or so it will take to get the I-130 completed at the NVC level.. u get approx. 14 months.

I just left my senators office. They're a bunch of retards. No one understands this system at all. They said they will contact VSC in a week or so. I'm sure my other senator can get things going faster but the immi guy isn't in the office today (of course).

I won't kill myself, then I'll NEVER see him again. I believe in hell and God and all that happy horse #######. USCIS will kill me off before I get the chance to do it to myself.

Melissa,

Its hard to tell from your timeline where you are. You have indicated an RFE for your I129F about a month after your I130 was approved. Your I130 was just received at NVC on the 9th of this month. Has there been any CRIS emails telling you your RFE response was received and that processing had resumed, any touches on I129F since getting the RFE?

You Know I am reading this wondering if that is what is happening with me. My K-3 fee was waived as stated when i check the status of my 129F.

I have not been waiting that long for the 129F though, just a few weeks. Remember we talked abou this already devine?

I know how the dissapointing news can hit. I cannot imagine with a little one too. Remember that you have to keep your chin up around him for him. If you believe that faith brought you together, you must believe that it will not keep you apart.

I am so blessed here in america that every time this process is taking longer then we planned, I feel for my husband. He has so much to look forward to. It must be more dissapointing for them.

I am going to now question my lawyer about 129F's being cancled because of approved 130. Because mine was approved quicker than inticapated.

Talk to you soon. If my son lets me. We are fasting TV and the Computer for 5 days. 1 day down. Time for me to head home.

I just did the RFE trick. I'm in tears as I write this.

Since my I-130 was approved months ago my I-129F will be terminated. That is the new policy. I was on hold for a long time while the chick at VSC spoke to her supervisor.

I followed the instructions and paid the money. And now I'm being forced to take the CR1 after wasting 4 months waiting for the I-129F to be approved. I did NOT pay the NVC I did NOT pursue the CR1

I have never heard of them canceling a I-129f petition after an I-130 has been approved.

As a matter of fact, my I-130 was originally approved in Jan then in Aug for some God forsaken reason it was returned to the CSC. While this was going on our I-129f sat idle for 10 months, so we then contacted the USCIS about it and within days it was approved. This happened in Sept.

Since then, our I-130 AND I-129f have reach the consulate and I am awaiting my interview.

I am hoping you were grossly misinformed.

CR-1 is the superior visa, it is an Immigrant visa, gets green-card upon entry, allowing work.

K-3 has to adjust status ($1010 FEE) and cannot work until getting EAD or the Green-Card, EAD can take 90 days to get.

going for the CR1 is about TIME i will pay a million dollars to have him here i dont care about money

even if i get involved with the james shortcuts i'm looking at another 14 months AT BEST!!!!!!!

Don't worry. Take a deep breath. I think, CR-1 is better than K-3, as others said. You should be able to finish NVC process by 3 months, if you are prompt. Please read NVC shortcuts, ask questions. Time will fly.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with your case. I'm sure everyone here knows exactly how you feel right now. This waiting game is frustating, stressful, and draining. I pray that you stay encouraged, and not let this stop you. I filed for my husbands (CR-1) in June of last year, and it took precisely 13 months. I don't think you would have to wait 14 more months with your case, especially since your CR-1 is already approved. That's half the battle right there. If you use shortcuts, you can get through the NVC in no time. Be encouraged and God Bless you and your family!

The embassy website doesn't have anything like that (or not that I can find anyway) I guess I'll give them a call, thanks for the tip :) I'm calming down and starting to get back into research mode urgh.

I've decided to take a trip to Lagos that I can't afford time wise or w/ vacation time at work but it's for the best. We both need something concrete to look forward to right now.

quick question.. I was hoping to avoid the I-864 w/ the K3 (yes, it's a small issue) does the CR1 use that form instead of the I-134 or whatever its called?

ok the jig is up. lol * i am working witha lawyer. ihave no idea what is going on. i know when the 130 was recievedand andapproved. And when the 129F was recieved. i know the nvc contacted my lawyer for two fees totaling $ 450 made out to the department of state. The rest was guestimate so i could get an estimate from vj. From looking at other peoples timeline the information i am sure about looks accurate.

i have not had to do much thinking about this process. every thing i answered was via the internet and then it created the forms. kinda like filling your taxes out online. AFter you answered the questions this created the forms. the lawyer said what is next is the papers that show i can afford my husband. lol

i welome your input

Since you already have the two NVC bills in hand, I would guesstimate your NVC time at about 6 weeks (conservatively).

2 weeks to receive, accept the payments and generate the two forms (Affidavit of support and DS-230).

You use James' shortcuts here.

1 week for NVC to receive/accept the forms.

2 weeks to case complete.

1 week to get your case to the embassy.

Look up what documentation is required by your embassy. The bare minimum is tax transcripts for last 3 years, letter from your employer and 2 months worth of paystubs, copy of your spouse's passport. You also may need police certificates and birth certificate of your spouse (possibly with translations).

Good luck! You can make it!

Thank you that is very helpful. I read your timeline and it doesnt make much sense to me but then again I havent really studied the CR1 process.. I guess now I have to :(

For about a year from December 3 2006, my husband was denied entry into the US. That was the worst day of my life. I really had no desire to function. I felt let down by the Department of Homeland Security, whom sent my hubby back to Germany, and is also there to secure the borders of the US. And here I am in the military willing to fight any war that the US has to face, but not able to have the love of my life here with me to give me the energy and willingness to do my job. After a year of waiting, I realize that this distance has made me and my hubby stronger. Not many americans or really anyone can go through this. I think people who give up easily really dont know love or even want it. I want the love my pookie has to offer. And I want to give him all the love I have to give no matter how long I have to wait, even if it will take forever. Its a sacrifice for all of us to go through this process, but persistence and patience has gotten all of us this far. Dont give up and think of your children. They are one day closer to having their dad. You are one day closer to having the love of your life although the finish line seems distant. And I am sure he realizes all the sacrifices you have went through, are going through and will go through for him. Thats LOVE. I beleive in Karma and I beleive for all this time you and me have missed out, we will get ours a trillion fold. (L)

I-864 is required for CR1/IR1

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with your case. I'm sure everyone here knows exactly how you feel right now. This waiting game is frustating, stressful, and draining. I pray that you stay encouraged, and not let this stop you. I filed for my husbands (CR-1) in June of last year, and it took precisely 13 months. I don't think you would have to wait 14 more months with your case, especially since your CR-1 is already approved. That's half the battle right there. If you use shortcuts, you can get through the NVC in no time. Be encouraged and God Bless you and your family!

Tiana

Thank you that is very helpful. I read your timeline and it doesnt make much sense to me but then again I havent really studied the CR1 process.. I guess now I have to :(
