USCIS to NVC delays

I am wondering why it takes such a long time for USCIS to forward the petition to NVC?

Does anyone know if it is sent by truck, and is that why it takes a 30 to 45 days? I was thinking it would be sent by air (we don't live in 18th century) and if needed I wouldn't mind paying $15 more.

I have noticed that certain folks from certain countries have their petition forwarded to NVC without much wait (less than 2 weeks). I see a discrepancy in the priority forwarding the K1 petition, depending on the country of fiancee.

Appears like we are in the dark with regards to this process. Can we raise this as an issue with a supervisor at USCIS?

Any suggestions or if anyone has spoken to anyone at USCIS, regarding this, please share.

Peter

Actually, they are sent by llama.

Sometimes the llamas die of starvation or get lost, especially those travelling cross-country from the California Service Center. Other llamas just get distracted by a tasty lilac patch, and a few get hit by the DHL trucks that are hauling important documents....

Seriously, though... I've seen reports (just on random posts on VJ) that the service center is having issues with the courier, and that is the root cause of the delays. Some people believe that one BIG shipment a month is all that's getting sent to the NVC. I don't know if any of these are true.

Just be patient, and don't fret over it! It will get there!
