if you'd noticed it you'd not have taken the opportunity to jump on me.

this was you right? in post #12 was it not?

amen. liberals think in mysterious ways.

who said anything about liberals or conservatives up until that point? you said you TRY not to stereotype... I got that. Then if you do, no need to bring up a political viewpoint in a conversation about parenting choices, IMO.

My husband and I choose not to have children based on a whole host of reasons, just one of which is the desire not to bring a child into this world, which isn't getting any better. What other people choose is up to them, and bravo if they make a choice and it turns out the way they want. But then again, because we are liberals, our reasons are just cuckoo I guess.

nevermind, it's probably obvious to someone without an ax to grind but you are missing it.

This article is, to use a British phrase, a load of rubbish! No matter where you stand on the various issues, how can you take seriously an article that opens with, "...she would know at first hand what it is like to cradle her own baby, to have a pair of innocent eyes gazing up at her with unconditional love, to feel a little hand slipping into hers."

You've got to be kidding me.

Then again, it is the Daily Mail.

Natty, if I own 2 small economy cars and go through a total of 20 gallons a week combined, and you own 1 large SUV that goes through 40 gallons a week, who is consuming more gas?

You are. Your small economy cars took as much oil to manufacture as the big SUV. Over the service life of most cars, they will consume less gas for driving than they did to produce. Simply having the car is the largest impact carbon-wise (tires, steel and plastics all take oil to manufacture). If you keep these cars more than 6 years, you would probably be tied.

I am all for pro choice. But this makes me question my own beliefs because I don't agree with her choice.

Saving the planet by terminating a life. A life you created by having sex.

Hmm I'll to sit on this one for a while.

mmm...She decided not to have a baby because they are not "eco-friendly"? That's a bit extreme...

Saludos,

Caro

I agree. It's not the babies...it's the people. You can raise your children to be eco friendly and to make a difference.

terminating a pregnancy over that is really stupid and extreme.

And I usually never question a woman's choice in these cases.

I agree...it seems to be written that way to purposely push buttons... *gasp*..... as if the media would do that!

Yeah, terminating her pregnancy was just aweful :(. That aside, if they adopt (greatest love in my book), that would be so great. There are so many kids in need of a loving family and a better future. But that requieres a huge heart, and from the story, I don't think this is the case.

Saludos,

Caro
