Hello Everyone,

I am yet to receive the DS 230 FORM. I want to know who should fill out the form me the petitioner or my spouse the applicant. Secondly who should mail it me or my spouse in Africa.

The the applicant is the one who needs to fill out the DS form, sign and mail to the person assign to the case. Your going to have to mail it once you receive it from your wife. You need to read up on the NVC forums. It will tell you all you need to know plus give you lots of shortcuts that really work. Gud luck!

i believe from what you have said your spouse should fill it out, sign it, and mail it to the NVC. your spouse is the one who needs the VISA, right?

also, u can download the DS-230 form from online and have your spouse fill it out and send it to you ahead of time. when you received the coversheet from the NVC for the DS-230, just send the form your spouse filled with the coversheet and you should be good. (you can also save more time by using Jame's shortcuts to generate the DS-230 coversheet once you know the NVC has created it and attach that to the form your spouse sent you. this will save additional time.)

Immigrant applicant is to fill out the DS-230. Not the US citizen who is the petitioner.

The National Visa Center can mail it to your petitioner (if you have elected that person as your AGENT to receive mail on your behalf) in the US. Then your AGENT can scan the DS-230 into PDF format and email it to you in Africa.

Indeed, you can download the form from the USCIS website; and it's filled in by the beneficiary (your spouse).
