Does anyone know how to change the name on a Ukrainian passport to the new married name ?

My wife and I were coming back from Ukraine (she already has a green card in her married name), and passport control was not going to let her come back (in Ukraine) because her Ukrainian passport has her maiden name on it and doesnt' match her green card with our married name. Needless to say, we never want that problem again..

Thanks.

Temp solution is to always have a copy of your marriage certificate that shows name change and use the VIP service on departure.

Call the Ukrainian Consulate in Chicago, New York, San Francisco or Washington DC (dependant on your local) ....

Thanks, but there is no VIP service in Odessa Ukraine.. In fact there a bunch of you know what... We had a certified copy of the marriage license and they were still aholes about it, saying she would have to stay in Ukraine while I go back to the USA, she was ballin on that one... I will call the consulate to see what they say..
