Salam

Ahhh the religion of peace and tolerance.

you first should know whats the different between tolerance and self-respect

tolerance does not mean to let a civilized English teacher come teach my six years old son how to miss-respect his prophet..

I wonder if i could get fired if i called my co workers Mohammed lol.

no you wont be fired, because Muhammed(SAAW) saved your blood.

my point is what would be your reaction if i missrespected your parents?!!!

so we love our Prophet away more that what you think and we love and follow him of what we know about him , so please if you think you are people of the tolerance and civilization and that means you can hurt others feelings , then i need to read more about your cultures

I thought "Mohammed" is a common name. People in that country cannot be that stupid to think that a foreigner would deliberately insult a religious figure in their nation. Then again are these not the same people who are butchering woman and children in Dafur

Mohammed

Muhammad is a very popular surname, ranking 4,194 out of 88,799 for people of all ages in the 1990 U.S. Census.[11][12]

In May 2006, it was reported that statistics indicate that some 8,928 Danish Muslims carry the name Muhammad and that in 2004 alone, more than 167 new-born babies were registered with the prophet's name.[13]

According to the sixth edition of The Columbia Encyclopedia (2000), Muhammad is "probably the most common given name" in the world, including variations.[14] It is estimated that more than 15 million people in the world bear the name Muhammad.[15]

I have no expectation that you should respect my parents. You have no right to expect that I respect your false Prophet.

they wont behead her , and you all wana fool me to le think she did not mean by the Muhammad the prophet or if they would do that to her just f she mean any other Muhammad.

and if i were them and got sure she mean the prophet , i would not get her to police stations , i'd just get her out of this school right away.

because all i care about are those kids who waits from her to teach them usefull subjects in the Honorable English ways instead of standing of doing what she did.

only understand it , we dont joke when it comes to hour Religion or our prophet , so if you are that tolerance just stop harrassing us , and we ill away tolerance in other things

salam

Do you know how many jokes are made about Jesus and Christianity in the US all the time, a "Christian" nation? And yet people don't get arrested for it here. I am a Christian and don't get happy to hear my beliefs being insulted, but I can't expect others to respect my beliefs just b/c I do. It's called freedom of religion.

(Anyway Jesus told us in the bible that there would be ridicule b/c of believing in Him, so really I shouldn't be offended or surprised when He said it would happen anyway. And also that we don't fight against flesh and blood(people) but against the spiritual world.)

Nope. What does it matter what a complete stranger says?

It always matters. You wouldn't do anything if someone tried to, say, spread falsehoods about your family that would damage their reputation? People who truly don't care what anyone thinks are usually rather unpleasant to be around.

The only falsehoods you need be concerned with are falsehoods that matter.

For example, if you were my colleague and up for a promotion, and I went around saying you slept with the janitor. That falsehood would impact your shot at the promo, and you'd be justified in being upset.

On the other hand, if a complete stranger goes around telling other complete strangers that my moms a hoe, that has no impact. None of them know her, none of them even know me. That's not an insult, that's just bait ;)

You are born to your parents, but if I reacted the same way to if ppl insulted them as when ppl insult my beliefs, that would be very time consuming. The article is about ppl feeling their beliefs were insulted. Don't we all feel that way sometimes? Yet why was it ok for this teacher to be arrested?

If we talk about my specific beliefs, anyone who has ever used "Jesus Christ" as a curse word and "God D----" would have to hear me telling them how rude they were every time if I were to say something each time. I don't like hearing those things, but I can't control others from using it. They might refrain from saying it around me if they know me well, to be respectful, but if people don't know me they'd have no idea if it bothered me.

Or, as is their right in a free country, they simply might not care. Sure, you may find it disrespectful but I'm sure you appreciate living in a country where everyone has that right.

Just to be clear, I also think the teddy bear thing is ridiculous, however I have no belief in Mohammed, so what do I know? I just am skeptical when people say that what other people think doesn't matter. You can try to control people's expression of their opinions that you find offensive, but they'll still have thoughts that you find offensive. So at the end of the day, censoring what people say does nothing to change what people think. Just because you can't control it doesn't mean you can't be hurt by it.

Your lack of awareness and intolerance scares me, Hitchoo. I agree.... you definitely need to read more.
