was reminded of this story today and since it made me laugh again, I thought I'd share.....

Before I met Andre, I dated this other Andre....who we will call Jacka$$ for fun.....and cause he is one! Well, Jacka$$ calls me one day and tells me he got me the coolest present. He went on and on about how amazing and cool it was for weeks. Now, I dated him about 5 months then and I thought he knew me pretty well. So, I go to visit and he hands me this belt. It's black with this silver lace all over it. Shiny silver lace. The buckle is this gigantic broach looking thing......like Grandma's favorite UGLY broach. It's at least 6 inches or so in diameter. A gigantic ugly silver flower. That......get this...........ARE YOU READY????????? It lights up. I kid you not. There are several buttons to push-----it lights up all white, flashing white, flashing red, blue, and yellow, and pulsating flashes of all 4 colors. It's so freaking ugly. And he's so excited about it. Made me wear it down to the disco. In fact, I think the first time I met Andre, I had this ugly a$$ thing on.

Of course, I have to call everyone and tell them about it when I get home. I rush over to my cousin's to show her how hidious it is. To recreate wearing it to the disco, I turn off her lights and dance around. My other cousin walks in the room and says "you know you have a neon sign pointing to your crouch?" I nearly peed my pants.

I still keep that ugly thing as a reminder of what a real jacka$$ he was and that he never really knew me at all. I also keep hoping the stupid battery will wear out one day!!!!!! Andre cracks up every time he sees it.

I'm not sure I've ever trusted a man to get me a gift after that incident.

Anyone get a more hideous present???????????????

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I want to find Christmas cookie cutters and then make a big batch of cookies, then let my son decorate them with frosting and sprinkles.

I want to find a nice tree that smells of pine, have a family night to decorate, drinking hot cider while listening to Christmas music. :)

I love Christmas spirit! I think I'll go home and set up my little artificial tree while dreaming about the house I'll have someday with that nice tree that smells of pine.

Looking at my cell phone pix of the Christmas light decorations I posted in this thread makes me want a digital camera more. :P

I went the the student union to see what decorations they have and surprisingly not as much as the commons did. Just the coffee shop has some silver snowflakes.

This Christmas I would like to get more than just the lights on my Christmas tree (don't ask!)

And the ability to snap my fingers and instantly be in Canada with my family any time I want would be cool too.

PS. Jules, I am with you on the no more chemo for Mom wish -- mine too!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

omg

Sorry, but....wow :)

A bit OT:

I once had a boyfriend take the crucifix from around his neck on Christmas day and give it to me...as my gift. We'd been dating for almost 2 years at that time. We only lasted about 6 more months (and not because of the "gift" though that was a big clue...) After we broke up he tried one more time by proposing thusly: "You'd make a great businessman's wife. Would you like to get married?" Um...no thanks.

you want bananas?

maybe it's shaped like a banana

Maybe it s a tape measure.

I want someone to help me pack for the move and unpack the house for Christmas. That would be better than any wrapped up goodie.

PS. Jules, I am with you on the no more chemo for Mom wish -- mine too!

It sucks. Her illness is the only reason why I am not in NZ with my husband. :(

((((((big hugs)))))))

Hugs to you too, girl! We're just playing the waiting game to see if Mom's stem cell transplant takes hold. It's hard being away from her. :(

I can imagine. That's the reason why I came back from Melbourne. Our family is small, just Mom and Grandma and I did not want to leave them alone in this situation. I really hope your Mom is going to get better soon and the stem cell transplant works. (L)

As for my Mom we already know that it's not going to get better. But we are a very positive family and try to make the best out of it. Luckily we have a good sense of humour and our sarcasm makes somehow makes things easier. It could still all be worse and we are greatful for what we have.

::Hugs for Julie and Cassie::

Now I feel icky putting this in the same post showing support to you two but...

I really do want a Wii.

Thanks for the hugs and don't worry about posting your Christmas wish! :) We want to know, don't we Cassie?
