IS: Third: Married Sons and Daughters of Citizens: 23,400, plus any numbers not required by first and second preferences.

Chart says consulates for most countries are processing 3rd pref visa petitions from 08 APR 00, so looks like 8-9 years to process third pref visa petitions.

That is scary, especially as we have already waited 18mnths for the I130 to be looked at!

 I hope there are some visas being granted quicker than that. My parents are in their 60s, so time is not on our side.

Any suggestions of a faster route?

No faster route other than if one of them gets hired by a US company and is brought to the USA on a H1B work immigrations visa.

USCIS knows the priority schedule, so takes time on processing those cases before sending on to NVC for storage until visa number is assigned to the case.

I-130 Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a married son or daughter over 21 April 30, 2001 (USCIS timeframe for the petition, don't expect any USCIS activity on the case for at least 6 years.)
