UNDER SECURITY CHECK EXTENSION

Today is monday a new monday and the days just keep goign and we don't hear anything from anyone no our attorney no USCIS ,I just wonder if after going under security check extension everything is lost I haven't heard of anyone is this site talking about a timeline when you go through this ,should we just quit and try to take another way because apparently this one it is not going to work.

Do not give up! Contact your Attorney and the Senators office. I would even begin to fill out the complaint forms and send them into USCIS. Unfortunately, the only way your spouse will come here is by going thorough this nightmare process! You have waited a long time and you need to keep going forward. Best of luck!!

I DID get something in the mail from my congresswoman.. she said they responded to her already (because I had sent my letter to her 4 times, and also other congressmen had fowarded my letter to her also... so she decided to help... hmmm)... well, anyway.. I got a letter in the mail with her stationery as well as a statement from USCIS regarding my case... they said that my case was being "delayed due to security checks"... most of these checks are done very quickly, but some take longer because there might be an issue with the beneficiary's qualifications to come to America... what the hell is that about?.. it was like a 4-5 paragraph letter (99% BS) stating why they need to do a security check... something about how "they know that we are frustrated, but they need to balance between one person's inconvenience vs the whole nation's safety"... :angry:

It's going to take a @(%U# 5 years if they do all these checks on me...

At USCIS (Homeland Security Department) stage, currently, NCIC, IBIS and NIIS database checks are done, with the option, if warranted, to do additional database checks.

At National Visa Center (State Department) stage, a separate independent NCIC database check is done by in-house FBI staff in connection with information supplied in the DS-230. Based on results, NVC has the option to request full fingerprints to be taken at post. NVC checks can usually be completed in 24 hours. In some limited cases involving high-risk visa applicants meeting certain specific criteria, NVC also does Security Advisory Opinions (SOAs) before sending the file to Consular Post.

At Consular stage, there are three (3) Visa Security name checks done: CONDOR, MANTIS AND MORE ANOTHER NCIC (via CLASS)

[Consulate has option, if warranted, to run full gamut of checks, such as CCD (past visa applications & results), TIPOFF (DOS Bureau of Intelligence), NAILS (Nat'l Automated Immigration Lookout System), TECS II (Treasury Dept. database), TSC & TTIC (DOS Terrorist screening)].

Relax, your approvals are coming soon.

Why would it take 5 years? The security checks you mentioned at the bottom of the post on the bene, your wife. If they proceed with the K3 to NVC, there is no DS-230 for them to get additional info from, so it is just a simple name check. Consular post will only request additional checks if they believe there is a reason. You are stuck at the DHS stage with an added check for some reason.

Thanks Urge to Race.. actually, if they do check even at the 1st step, what is stopping them from checking when most of the people are being checked (at the administrative checks right before the interview?).. seems we just got unlucky here.. :crying:
