I have my K1 interview in 3 weeks' time, one week before Christmas. I was concerned about getting my passport back in time for Christmas, as my SO will be here by then, and we're due to fly to the UK together to spend Christmas with my family. I just called the US Consulate in Amsterdam to ask for advice and the lady was just so helpful. She said I can take an express mail envelope to speed things up (normally I wouldn't need to take anything). That office has been super-fast, sending packet 3 the same day as receiving the info from NVC, and sending packet 4 the day they received packet 3 from me. I thanked her for the efficiency we've seen (in comparison to the snail's pace at USCIS) and she said "Well I don't mess around with K1 visas. Especially not just before Christmas!" It was so nice to be able to thank someone who is having a direct hand in processing our case, especially someone who really seems to understand the pain and heartache we go through in being apart from our loved ones.

I just wanted to share this story with everyone to encourage you all!!
