What good is it trying to figure out who has it the hardest?

To the OP - my husband and I just talked about it this last weekend. How fast we forget the depression, sadness and feeling of helplessness we experienced during the long distance relationship once we are together.

I remember waking up many mornings and just starting to cry because I missed him so bad, the process took so long and at times I was just ready to give up- I was so tired and felt so hopeless.

However, giving up is not an option and keeping the big goal in mind is essential - it is all worth it in the end!

Stay strong!

O.K. IS IT JUST ME OR IS ANY ONE ELSE ON THIS SITE DEPRESSED? I'V HAD GOOD DAY'S AND BAD. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HERE. BUT EVERYONE ALWAYS SEEMS SO UP BEAT. I'V TRIED TO BE PATIENT AND BRAVE. BUT IT ALL SEEMS SO HOPELESS. ANOTHER YEAR GONE BY. AND I'M STILL NOT WITH THE ONE I LOVE. HOW MANY MORE TO COME? IT 5 MONTHS SINCE I LAST WAS WITH MY LOVE. BUT NOW I CANT SEE WHEN THE NEXT TIME WILL BE. ITS SO EXPENSIVE. MY LOVE IS CLINICALLY DEPRESSED FROM ALL OF THIS. BUT HOW MUCH MORE CAN A SOUL TAKE? AND FOR WHAT? A/P FOR 1 YEAR AFTER THE INTERVIEW. THEY SAID WE WOULD HER FROM THEM IN 1 MONTH. WELL ITS BEEN A YEAR AS OF 11/14/07. SO ACTUALLY IT IS MORE THEN A YEAR NOW. AND NO END IN SITE. HOW DO YOU TRY TO MAKE YOUR LOVED ONE FEEL ANY BETTER WHEN THERE IS NO END IN SITE. AND FROM HALF A WORLD AWAY. IT ONLY MAKES IT MORE UNBEARABLE. YOU CANT COMFORT FROM A WORLD AWAY. I CANT GIVE HOPE BECAUSE I HARDLY HAVE ANY MYSELF. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW THAT THIS IS CRUEL AND UNUSAUL PUISHMENT FOR THE CRIME OF FALLING IN LOVE. THER SHOULD BE A LIMIT ON HOW LONG THE CAN TORMENT PEOPLE LIKE THIS. EVEN A NO WOULD GIVE SOME COMFORT AT THIS POINT. BECAUSE THEN WE WOULD HAVE THE LUXUARY OF TRING TO MAKE PLANS FOR A FUTURE TOGETHER IN HIS COUNTRY. LIMBO STINKS BIG TIME. HOPELESS, DEBBIE

I just want to say that I understand how the wait takes a toll on you. It seems like you have had such a long wait and seeing others get approved has to sting sometimes. Just know your day is coming like Melinda said and all of this wait will seem like minutes to you once your loved one is here and you start the next journey in your life together. I try to keep myself thinking like this, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. My fiancee is wonderful at helping me but my job is to also help him get through this. Right now we are expecting a son in late February early March and he will more than likely not be here by then. We understand our wait is no different than any other couples and it was our decision to have our son but it still has been so lonely and for him to have to see his baby growing in my belly on a webcam is hard for him. I just wanted him to meet his son with me and this is what is eating at me as to how he will take this after he is born being away from both of us. I still am so blessed that I have this man, our love and our commitment, this helps me to get through these times. My heart is with you, I truly understand how it tears you to pieces to be separated from the person you love. My prayer is for you to have more speed in this process and that soon you're loved one will be with you and we will be reading your post VISA IN HAND!

Some of you people really take the biscuit here. Yes, we get it...you're depressed. That does NOT, however, allow you to take it out on someone here for no damned reason...ESPECIALLY since others are trying to be nice.

And before ANYONE gets on the 'you're with a Brit and you can visit anytime'....keep in mind that I have not seen him since July 06. Am I taking it out on people here? NO. Am I crying about the wait? No. Yes, it sucks...but this was our choice to pursue, therefore we have to deal with the challenges we face. Is it my right to bring him here? No it is not...it is my privilege as an American citizen.

OP & everyone else not dealing well with the distance...I am sorry for your pain...I hope your situations improve and you are reunited with your loved ones. But for the Love of God, please turn off your caps lock and everyone please stop taking it out on people here. You're acting like petulant children.

I was hospitalized three times on a psychiatric ward after we started the K1 process. Ninety-eight stitches in my right arm. Do I win an award for being the most depressed, despite marrying a dirty Canuck?

Stitches in your arm for what?

Intentionally cutting myself.

I sincerely hope you got the help you need!

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
