i just returned from morocco with two different kinds of cookies from my husband's family, moroccan cheese and moroccan sausage... put them in your checked bags... everything will be fine.... if they ask to see inside your bags and say you cant have them then throw them away... no harm done

good luck

As far as I know, you cannot bring any kind of meat, or fresh fruits and vegetables. they give you the customs form on the plane and you are supposed to declare all food products. If you don't tell the truth, and you are caught, not only they will take it away, but they will fine you.

i've brought amlou, argan oil (both not in original packaging...), cookies, cakes, spices, all in tupperware or plastic baggies. i think the key is putting it in your checked bag instead of your carry on... especially the liquids (they are not allowed in the carry on anyway)

tarik, if i were you i would bring all sorts of moroccan spices. the spices here don't compare to home and you will wish you brought them to make tagines and things! :)

oh! i second the motion on bringing over some spices. you can't get the same quality spices here...and certainly not for the price. put them in your checked luggage. and maybe a tagine, if your habiba doesn't already have one?? you can wrap the base in sponges and clothes so it doesn't break, carry on the top. then, you can have a nice Moroccan meal when you really miss home?

i believe you are allowed something like 30 kilos in your checked luggage.

good luck and congratulations to you!
