my I864 was geneated nov 5th and i have yet to receive it....so im looking into doing it myself using james shortcuts..

i understand everything except this..

in the james shorcuts link it says that you must "include cover sheet and barcode cover sheet...my question is what is the difference between these 2?

and then my second question...is the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data still neded to be sent?

I can answer your first question. Barcode cover sheet is where NVC has the case number and mailing address written and cover sheet probably refers to a cover letter which you will address to NVC and tell them what you are attaching in the packet. A cover letter is not required, but it is helpful.

I am not sure, if the authorization for release of tax data is required or not. You can post this question at NVC.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

You should get it momentarly--it took mine almost three weeks to arrive. I wrote a cover letter to accompany the barcode cover sheet. In the letter, I simply listed in order all the items I was including in the order listed in J's shortcuts.

P.S. Read the instructions about tax forms, etc. I think now you can provide copies of the tax forms unless you have not filed in the last three years and were supposed to have done so. In that case, you have to order electronic transcripts and send them (the equivalent of the authorization, but you are doing the work).

:) It's coverletter and coversheet. Coverletter will state/ note everything you have submitted, and the coversheet is the one that NVC send s you with the barcode to route your document within their review department.

and then my second question...is the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data still neded to be sent?
 No, you no longer need to submit that form
