hey everyone , i just joined today hoping to find people going through the same thing as me . i am from michigan and my husband is from england , we met 10yrs ago on yahoo and dated ,always kept in touch but we both found ourself single and gave it another go and here we are now 10yrs later married (finally) ! he came here to just visit but ended up getting married because after 10yrs we couldnt spend another day apart . trying to get advice on what to do now is crazy so many ppl say 1000 different things so if anyone cares to chat and pllllzzzz help me with where to go now id love it ! good luck to everyone and great happiness

Firstly, welcome to VJ!!! We look forward to seeing your posts in the future.

Secondly, to answer your question, if your husband is still in the U.S., you can file Forms I-485 and I-130 to adjust his status.

When you file Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status), you are also able to file for I-131 (Advance Parole) and I-765 (Employment Authorization). They are all included in the same fee.

Your husband will not be able to leave the U.S. and re-enter without first getting his AP documents or his Green Card.

Aug. 21/08... Interview - PASSED!!!!

Sept. 2/08... Oath Ceremony

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!

KAELY (K-2 Visa)

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
