Well, let's see how this goes!

Of course, I got my NOA2 today, but other than that.....a friend/colleague of mine just walked into the office. She went to Disney with her man for the hols. She just walked in, and handed me a gift....a keychain with my name on it. Then on the back, it says 'Lisa - From the Hebrew meaning 'oath of God'. She is pretty and graceful. kind and caring, but level-headed and practical. A good sense of humor.

Then she says 'I read this, and it described you perfectly...so I had to get it.'

What a wonderful compliment! And how sweet that she thought of me! (L) I'm so touched by this little keychain!!!

Anything good happen to you today?

Yep! We let Phoebe on the bed for the very first time ever. She struggled to jump up on it, though. Our bed is a wee bit too high for her, even though she's a big dog. She has a bad right hip, hence she has no strength to go the distance. So Brandon lugged a chair in from the living room, Phoebe did a two-step hop, and then ta da! She was on our bed, snuggling in our blankets and snoring happily. That's a great way to start a grey Sat morning. :)

Aww that's a GREAT way to start it!

Yanno, they sell doggy steps...it kinda pizzes me off cos about 14 years ago, my little Westie was having trouble jumping on the bed, so my dad built him carpeted steps leading up to the bed. Tres cool. Now I see them all over the place

I swear, if they were developed by someone who saw them at my house, I'mma sue :P

But they're a great help for small dogs and dogs with issues (hip, arthritis, etc)

We have seen those doggy steps before, and they're a wonderful invention! We don't want to get one just yet because we don't want Phoebe to start thinking she can go to bed with us any time she wants. That girl snores like a trucker sometimes, I swear! We may make this a weekly treat for her. She really enjoys snuggling with her daddy any chance she can get. :D

I had a little gift from my two colleagues in my mailbox this morning. I have been off work for a few weeks now because of a mysterious illness and they miss me.

We have a few insider jokes...the three of us have last names which sound like animal names - my last name is Lamb (baaaa), my other colleague is Bird (in German) and the other one Deer (also in German). Everybody at work calls me the little lamb (although I am 5'10) and we are making lamb/bird/deer jokes all the time.

So they sent me three small packs of tissue with animals on them (the kids edition) - one with a sheep, one with and elephant with wings (that must be the Bird) and a monkey (that is definitely Ms. Deer - she is more of a monkey than deer!). They wrote a card and said, they miss me and because they don't want me to forget about them, they put "photos" of themselves on the tissue packs.

I had an awful day, I've been terribly achy again and the meds are not working, so I was glad that the girls cheered me up. :)

That IS really sweet. You're lucky to work in such a nice place. :D

I really hope that you feel better soon. Have the doctors got no idea what is wrong with you? Have they thought of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? That causes aches and pains and general exhaustion.

Yes, those girls are lovely. I love my job so much :) Last week they sent me tea and a book called "I've been through worse". Everybody was looking forward to hearing all my stories from my trip to NZ and they were very excited with me. When I had to cancel my trip, my colleagues were just as dissapointed as I was! LOL

Regarding me being ill - I have been pushed back and forth between doctors. All blood tests came back negative (no virus, no infection), so officially there is nothing wrong with me. But for three weeks I have been having light fever, the glands in my throat are swollen (plumsize, I am not kidding) and ache plus I have really bad headaches and problems with my vision. I took prescribed antibiotics for ten days, no change. I take a couple of Ibuprofen 800s for the pain every day, but it has absolutely no effect.

All three doctors I consulted (two GMs and one ear/nose/throat doctor) told me to just rest and wait until it's gone. But the pain is getting worse and worse, so I am off to another doctor (the fourth one in three weeks) on Monday. I am feeling a bit like an idiot, doctors look at me like they are thinking: There is nothing wrong with you. What are you doing here? But it feels like it is more than just a headcold. *sigh*
