I now know our filing was accepted by USCIS - they just cashed our check. However, there isn't a receipt number on the check so I guess we'll have to wait for the receipt notice.

07/17/2009 Interview Denver USCIS office RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL

09/04/2009 Applied for passport

09/22/2009 Passport approved and mailed

09/24/2009 Passport received

08/26/2009 Naturalization Certificate and Name Change Petition arrive back from State Department

I took a closer look at the front of the check (I was looking for a receipt number on the back) and there are some numbers handwritten there, but nothing that matches the format for a receipt number. If I add up the various numbers they put on there it adds up to over 20 digits in lengh. All numbers, no letters.

if that fails you can always call USCIS for the number, i had to call and get it because i never did receive the letter (i still haven't got it yet in the mail, and ours has been forwarded to NVC now)with the case number.

AOS time line:

March 9, 2009... EAD ordered.

March 14, 2009... Received EAD Card.

March 16, 2009... AOS approved.

March 28, 2009... Green card received.

Good luck for a speedy approval.

I received my NOA about one month after submitting the I-751. I hope you don't have to wait as long as I did for approval through Nebraska, though.

Yes, the case number will change but I still wasn't able to enter the case online until the biometrics were actually completed....so if it doesn't work online after receiving the bios notice try again after the appointment.
