hi everyone. my mom and i just received our conditional green card last week after five months. yey! :D

the next problem is filing a re entry permit. and according to what ive read, my departure from the US shouldnt occur until my biometrics are taken. do you guys have an idea how long will it take for th uscis to call me for my biometrics after them receiving it? im planning to go by january...

If you have your green card in hand, you don't need a re-entry permit unless you're planning on staying out of the US for an extended amount of time.

ETA: An extended amount of time is more than 12 months.

With the Green Card, you do not need Advanced Parole (reentry permit). If you have a Green Card, you have already had the Biometrics appointment. There is only 1 biometrics appointment. USCIS will not be calling you again for another biometrics appointment before you travel.

The photo that you took at your Biometrics appointment is what appears on your Green Card. So if you have the Green card, you are ready to travel!

June 4, 2007 - Mailed AOS

June 6, 2007 - USCIS received

June 11, 2007 - NOA1 for I-485

July 18, 2007 - Biometrics completed

July 20, 2007 - Case transferred from MSC to CSC

July 31, 2007 - AOS Approved - 57 days - Without an Interview!

Aug 06, 2007 - Received Green Card in the mail today!

Jan 8, 2009 @ 8:18PM - Our son was born tonight !!

I-751 - Remove Conditions

July 11, 2009 - Certified Mail to VSC I-751 Package

July 14, 2009 - Check cleared bank

July 20, 2009 - NOA1 & 1 yr extension - Receipt date is July 14. Case# assigned

Sept 1, 2009 - Biometrics completed

Nov 25, 2009 - I-751 is approved. No Interview.

Dec 14, 2009 - 10yr Green Card arrived !

hi guys. thanks for replying. um yea, im planning to stay in the philippines for more than a year to finish college... the form 131 instruction says, "However, departure from the United Statesshould not occur before your biometrics have been taken.." apologies my previous post's lack of info! :)

im quite sure ill be there for more than a year to finish my degree. i just never knew that they'll ask for another biometrics appointment as stated in the form 131 instructions. :wacko: im hoping to travel my january... :unsure:
