NVC case complete question!

I'm sorry for not posting anything since I joined this forum in September of 2007; anyway, I called the nvc today and spoke to a live operator about my case and she informed me that they have received all the required documents in their office. She also informed me that the current status of my case is that they are just carrying out their normal administrative processing within the nvc after which my case will then be held at the nvc pending interview scheduling; however, she could not say how long that might take as it usually depends on the U.S. Embassy in question.

Has anyone ever had such experience while processing at the nvc? Does the above tells me in any way how soon the nvc might complete the processing of my case?

I would appreciate clearification concerning the above from anyone out there please.

That is exactly what it sounded like to me too. After NVC receives all the necessary documents, they will take them through their normal processing (Administrative processing as she mentioned) and when that is done and they have everything they need, your case will be complete. It does take a few days so hold on tight, good news is on your way.

We are basically at the same point in the immigration process. Once ouR case was complete, it only took thew NVC about a week to transfer our case to the embassy in Australia.. (see my timeline below). It should be in transit as we speak!

I am at exactly the same place with NVC as you are and posted a similiar question in the NVC forum yesterday.

I called again yesterday and was told the same thing. The operator mentioned to me that "your file was sent for a final review as of Monday". She then said that just has to be done then we will be scheduling the interview etc etc.

The thing is, I also spoke with an operator on Monday and Wednesday - neither one of them mentioned that to me - don't know if they couldn't see it or - what.

Anyway, I don't know if you have visited the Canada forum here at all and looked at the IR1/CR1 timeline to interview?

How long has NVC had all your documents?

There is a period of "Case Complete. Please allow another 8 weeks for further instructions."

That is an interim period where the NVC schedules the interview at the specific embassy, while your case sits on a shelf and waits.

It could even go longer than the eight weeks if the Embassy is backlogged.

Very normal.

I understand that and I think the OP does too, we are talking about the period BEFORE Case Complete - I think the words "Case Complete" are pretty self explanatory

I earlier sent in a criminal record check from the Winnipeg Police Service; unfortunately, that was not enough. I finally sent in the Police Clearance from the RCMP (Winnipeg Detachment) on Nov. 5th which was entered into the nvc system on Nov. 8th. I hope the above helps answer your question.

I sent my RFE for my I-864 back on the 1st of September. As you can see from my timeline below there seems to be some confusion at NVC about my Husband's Canadian PR card (I have sent it to them 3 times now).

Anyway, they have had it since October 9th, and received it the third time on November 1st - but still no case complete. I will be very interested to know when you get your case complete.

Strange about the police certificate (unless you have a criminal record). All we sent was the Canada wide name check for my Husband, courtesy of the Calgary Police.

Strange indeed; I read a lot of threads on this forum and found out that the Winnipeg Police one was good enough, but nvc demanded that I obtain one from the rcmp eventhough they had the Winnipeg Police one. In their letter requesting said doc, they stated clearly that finger prints were not required; however, they feel comfortable with the rcmp one because it states that the applicant's name and date of birth was used in the search through "CPIC" whereas, the Winnipeg one saids "using the Winnipeg Police System and Canadian National System". So, as you can see I became a victim of the used of different terminologies meaning the same thing. Well, I guess we are it and we will survive after all. I will let you know how it turns out.
