I would think that any adult grown person should decide what he wants to do without worrying if god or allah is going to punish him, or if some bolt of lightning is going to strike him. He can go and take out of the experience what he wants or not go. Time for ppl to take charge of their lives, and not look up in some antiquated scripture what was proper 1700 years ago...its not relevant...this is today folks.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I have no comment to that, except, inshaallah, my wifey and i have a shared dream to separate from this (yes, ima say it) kaffir place, and have our own lives. Otherwise in the past I had everything I wanted but a spiritual link and loyalty.

You are spelling the word the way it is spelled in South Africa. In S.A., that word is/was used to descibe the native Africans (it is illegal to use that word in S.A. now). True, it was started there also by the Muslims, but normally - in the way I assume you are using it - it is spelled "Kafir". Spelled thusly, it is a derogatory term for "non-believers".

Why do you constantly feel the need to label "this place" as such?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Not getting into anything else here-- but am stepping in to correct the Jacob's ladder thing.

Jacob (Yacub) saw a dream of Angels climbing from heaven to earth and back again, acending and decending, on a ladder which was standing over him. This is from Genesis 28:12: "He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." For Christians this is again referenced in John 1:51 where Jesus (Yeshua) is quoted as saying, "I can guarantee this truth: You will see the sky open and God's angels going up and coming down to the Son of Man."

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I would never step foot in a church again, but i very much enjoy my community Masjid where if i see a sister i drop my eyes and know that there is mutual respect between all of us. I go there to pray, learn, take lesson, and for no other purpose

Asaalaam

Why not give that same respect to your wife and put up a different picture for your avatar?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

the long lost pillar: belief in angels

she may be fat but she's not 50

found by the crass patrol

"poisoned by a jew" sounds like a Borat song

If you bring up the truth, you're a PSYCHOPATH, life lesson #442.

I, the cajun alaskan texan who knows, cannot see the bridge between the two.

Insha'allah, some day you will be able to see the bridge between Islam and our sister Abrahamic faiths, and Insha'allah, it will be Allah who shows you the way. I find that drawing of boundaries is strong among many reverts, as if they were harmed by their former faith and/or need to show their loyalty to their adopted one. I am not a revert, and have had no such barriers to interfaith sharing, as best I can. But I do try to listen to what reverts like yourself go through to take on a new faith, and how you feel the need to separate, although I doubt I will ever fully understand.

My Christian husband was a blessing to me and helped to make me a kinder person toward those who believe not as I do. Because of him, I got the motivation to learn more about God and faith, and the common experience of those who take differing paths to Him. If we had been the same, I may have settled for being lead, but that is not what was in the cards.

Best to you on your spiritual and visa journey!

Green-eyed girl, I am a revert as well and honestly agree with you. I know where D&N is coming from, but I don't understand those that feel like they were damaged by Christianity and must be more strict about that seperation than others.

And before it is questioned, I did not come to Islam because of my SO. My SO is the reason I started to research and discover the religion, but I would never change my religion for another person nor would my SO ask me to. I made that decision during our seperation and as a seperate act.

It is true, and i do not use that word as a derogatory term for people of a different skin color either.

That word is used in the sense of "godless", which is the context of my post. Do any of my fellow americans deny this? Murders, STD's, teen pregnancies, drugs, alcohol, and countless acts of violence? Does the last church, which even in the bible is spewed out of god's mouth because it is shallow, ring any bells?

So many ministers here have preached of the "mark of the beast" with "a mark of the hands and foreheads" mentioned. What is the difference between that and biometrics? We are the only country who does that. We became what the bible taught was wrong, and we became exactly what the ministers looked from outside our country and described as evil and wrong. If there is a challenge to this please tell me. I paid my price and now i do see the true way.
