Hey Everyone ,

I'm filling out my DS 165 Form right now & I saw this question ( Has anyone ever filed an immigrant visa petition on your behalf ? YES OR NO ? If Yes, Who ?

I need some advice here , plz help me out if u can , I would like to know if I should tick of Yes Or No because nobody else ever filed in a petition for me before my fiance did , I think its a NO , I filled out this paper before but I can't remember what I ticked off on the form :wacko: , the only person that filed a K1 petition for me is my love , can u plz help me out here , should I tick off yes & put my fiance name ?

I did my husbands form for him and had him check no. My interpretation (though I could be wrong) is that its intended to be checked if you had a lawyer or assistance group thingy help you. Dont stress too much on this.

AOS

Mailed AOS, EAD and AP Sept 11 '07

Recieved NOA1's for all Sept 23 or 24 '07

Bio appt. Oct. 24 '07

EAD/AP approved Nov 26 '07

Got the AP Dec. 3 '07

AOS interview Feb 7th (5 days after the 1 year anniversary of our K1 NOA1!

Stuck in FBI name checks...

Got the GC July '08

Timeline

The K-1 Visa is a NON-IMMIGRANT visa, so if the only petition filed on your behalf has been the current I-129F, the answer should be NO.

08.19.2011 - Biometrics Letter Received

09.12.2011 - Biometrics Appointment

01.27.2012 - Card production ordered

02.01.2012 - 10 year GC Received

07.25.2021 - N400 filed online

08.09.2021- Biometrics re-use notice

04.18.2022- Interview done at Minneapolis USCIS Local Office   ✔️ Received N-652 "Congratulations your application has been recommended for approval" during the interview.

05.19.2022- Oath Ceremony in MN

Not really, this question is not about receiving legal assistance, what they are asking to the foreign fiance is if another US citizen (relative or employer) has filed for an IMMIGRANT VISA on his/her behalf? The current filing for K-1 should not be considered as an IMMIGRANT VISA filing, as the K-1 is a NON-IMMIGRANT VISA.

09.12.2011 - Biometrics Appointment
