Visiting US after Packet 3

I've visited my fiance in February, after I received Packet 3. I have my interview on May 09 and am worried that this may be a problem. I was not aware that you are not supposed to visit while waiting for a K1 visa. Didn't have any trouble at the POE, but reading some other postings about how it is not recommended to visit during this time, I got really, really worried. Anyone know more about this?

All you can do is be honest if you are asked about it.... as long as you did not lie at POE you should not have any problems....

All they asked me was what the purpose of my trip was and I said "a vacation", that was it. Didnt' need any visa as I have Canadian passport.

You should be fine, its not that it is not allowed, just more red flags come up at POE, as they can assume you just want to go to the USA to get married and pass the process. But, the fact that they let you in, and you came back, no worries .

Thanks Stina, I read all the documents and instructions very carefully and havne't seen anything that about not being allowed to visit while waiting.

Anyone knows if there is such an instruction anywhere in the filing documentation?

I cross all the time , never had a problem I say visiting friends. In fact I'm here right now and will be going back to Canada tomorrow. I'll be coming back in a month. No worries , just be honest -- your fiancee is your friend right ????

Just to add.. odds are they are not even going to ask you that at your interview. It's basically "How did you and your fiance meet? Have you ever committed a crime? Have you ever crossed over to the USA illegally?" and you give her your letter of intent and affidavit etc.

Thank all, you made me feel better about this. I was freaking out a little, and can't concentrate on my work. I keep going on this forum, while I am supposed to work, can't think of anything else.

The only reason it's not recommended to visit while you're waiting for your visa is because they might not let you into the country! Since you've been and gone you really don't have any problems whatsoever - if anything it makes your case stronger that you spent more time with your fiance. It REALLY isn't anything to worry about!

I also had no problem - however I would suggest having a copy of your flight itenery handy when you go through customs. Sometimes they asked me to see my return flight.

Speaking from experiance there is a good chance it wil come up at interivew.My wife(canadian) was turned around at Buffalo POE after her k1 was at montreal.They knew it was there and knew she was comming to see me.When she went to her interview they knew every time she had crossed and asked her about it.She was told you cant visit while a K1 pettion is in the works.Im just going by our experiance.Its not worth taking the chane IMO.

And not the INS does not consider your fiance your friend.To them thats a lie.
